About Inform2Help
What this is
Inform2Help is a free tool that helps you find help with food, rent, power, health care and phone bills. You type your ZIP code. It shows nearby health centers and housing counselors, and it links you to the official state and national sources for everything else. If you want, you can also add your household size and monthly income to get a rough idea of which programs you may qualify for.
How it works
- You enter a ZIP code. The page looks it up in a list that is built into the page itself.
- Optional: you enter how many people live in your home and your monthly income before taxes. The page compares that to the official income limits that the programs publish, and says "likely", "maybe" or "unlikely".
- You tap Call or open an official site. You can print a checklist of what to say and what to bring, or save a reminder to call.
Your privacy
- Everything is worked out on your own phone or computer. Your ZIP code, household size and income are never sent to us or to anyone else.
- There are no accounts, no cookies, no ads and no analytics from us. We do not save anything in your browser. When you close the page, it forgets what you typed.
- The page is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. As with any website, the host can see that a device asked for the page. We add no tracking of our own and never receive what you type.
- When you tap a link, a phone number or Map, you go to another service (for example Google Maps or a government site) that has its own rules.
- Your printed list and your calendar reminder are made on your device.
Where the information comes from
- Health centers: HRSA Health Center Service Delivery and Look-Alike Sites (updated Oct 16, 2026).
- Housing counselors: HUD-approved housing counseling agencies.
- SNAP: USDA Food and Nutrition Service state directory and income limits (Oct 2026 to Sep 2027), plus USDA rules on broad-based categorical eligibility.
- WIC and school meals: USDA income guidelines (Jul 2026 to Jun 2027).
- Poverty line: HHS 2026 poverty guidelines. Energy help (LIHEAP): HHS Administration for Children and Families.
- Lifeline: USAC. Medicaid expansion status: KFF. Earned Income Tax Credit: IRS.
- ZIP code places: GeoNames postal code data (CC BY 4.0).
We checked the numbers and links on Oct 17, 2026. Limits change every year, so the dates matter.
What this is not
- It is not a charity, a government site, or an agency. It is not affiliated with any of the programs or organizations it links to.
- It does not decide anything. Only each program can tell you whether you qualify.
- It cannot apply for you, and it never asks for money.
Limits to know about
- The quick guide uses gross monthly income only. Savings, immigration status, deductions and other rules can change the answer. For SNAP with someone 60 or older or with a disability, the program looks at income after deductions, so we do not say likely or unlikely.
- We cover the 50 states and DC. For households of 9 or more people we do not give numbers.
- Many of the sites we link to are in English only. The National Hunger Hotline has a Spanish line, and you can ask for Spanish when you call 211.
- Programs, hours and phone numbers change. Call first to confirm.
- If a number or link is wrong, 211 can still point you to the right place.
